Coconut-Milk Nails Are Fresh for Summer

Every summer the white manicure finds its way back to the top of the beauty agenda—a simple choice that looks flattering against even the lightest of summer tans. It’s a classic holiday nail color, but playing with a twist on straightforward white polish can keep things feeling extra fresh. Enter coconut-milk nails, the internet’s new nickname for a wash of sheer white.

Sheer manicures have become extremely popular with the A-list over the past few years. Take Hailey Bieber’s internet-breaking glazed-doughnut manicure, Gemma Chan’s glossy chiffon set, or Selena Gomez’s soap nails. “Celebrities are constantly photographed in different outfits and campaigns and at events, so a clean, sheer manicure works with everything,” manicurist Michelle Class previously told Vogue. The finished look is simultaneously timeless and camera-ready.

A satin-like finish defines coconut-milk nails: These aren’t solid white nails, but shimmer is not the goal either. When it comes to shape, keep things practical: Short and rounded or medium and almond shaped will do the trick.

Coconut-milk nails are just one entry on a long list of summer-ready neutrals—so which is your pick?
