Family-run specialist operator ceases trading as Atol holder

Northamptonshire-based Fun Travel ceased as an Atol holder (Atol 6811) on Thursday (15 December).

The business traded under Bonaire Fun Travel and Caribbean Fun Travel, and through websites bonairefuntravel.co.uk caribbeanfuntravel.co.uk.

Fun Travel was licensed under a franchise arrangement with Protected Trust Services (PTS), said the CAA.

Consumers with forward bookings with Fun Travel should contact PTS.

On its website, Fun Travel claims to be the only specialist for the islands it offers.

“Caribbean Fun Travel is a family run, independent tour operator,” reads the business’s website. “Some years ago, we visited Bonaire and Curacao with a Dutch friend who had a successful travel company specialising in the Dutch Caribbean. We fell in love with the islands.

“We decided that promoting responsible tourism, organising ’holidays-of-a-lifetime’ and working with the friendly people on the islands was a worthwhile career change, with masses of ’job satisfaction’.

“The best part of our ’job’, by a long way, is talking about these wonderful islands with people who are as enthusiastic about them as we are. We are a small, friendly company which puts customer service first.”
