Happy Harry Styles week to all those who celebrate—in New York City, at least. Tomorrow, the singer kicks off his “Together, Together” residency at Madison Square Garden in the Big Apple. We couldn’t be more excited.
Ahead of the big stage debut, where he will be posted up for over a month of shows, Styles has already been spotted walking around the city—there are rumors that the singer will be walking himself to the venue, via the Williamsburg Bridge (if true—color us impressed). Styles is, after all, a well-documented fan of running and getting those steps in. And just earlier today the 32-year-old musician was spotted strolling in an incredibly chic getu: a breezy white button-down shirt, baggy dress trousers, and a cheeky cap that read “techno is my boyfriend.” (If you ask us, he is our boyfriend.)

With the smart layering and minimal hues, Styles’s outfit was very fall-ready—which tracks as those in the Big Apple may have noticed, the weekend provided a cooler tease of autumn weather. But that outfit is a funny choice given that his fiancée, Zoë Kravitz, was also spotted today in a sartorial proposition that was the exact polar opposite. By the looks of it, Kravitz is still in summer heatwave mode: The The Batman actor stepped out wearing a silky, black, lace-trimmed camisole, denim cut-offs, and suede clogs—finishing off the ensemble with a beachy raffia tote and big bug-eye shades. It’s a perfect styling approach for a hot summer day (despite an early preview of fall, daytime temperatures have been soaring, a reminder that summer is still very much underway).
It’s not unusual for Styles and Kravitz to take such a polar-opposite approach to couple dressing. Just recently they hit the airport in two distinctly oppositional travel looks (Styles more dressy, Kravitz more cozy). But this is certainly a new development, given that the duo has veered way more matchy-matchy in the past (as seen with these summer sporty getups).
Frankly we’re here for the two different fashion wavelengths: Couple wardrobes don’t need to meld into one. Call this latest outing a fall-boyfriend summer-girlfriend moment. Maybe once autumn hits, Styles will veer back into short-shorts summer mode, and Kravitz will finally slip into one of her many amazing coats. These two love to keep us guessing.
