“As I wrote about a few weeks back, big shorts are having a big moment. When I was in Paris for men’s fashion week, I saw them everywhere, and they look terrific. The nice thing is there’s a lot of versatility in terms of shape and design—they can be pleated, flat-front, voluminous, straight-cut, colorful, etc. And they can really pair back to so many different styles of outfit, from formal to sporty and beyond.
I, myself, partake, and I keep it pretty workwear oriented with Dickies. I have a few cargo pairs from Abercrombie and Polo Ralph Lauren, too (both vintage from Depop). But I see them all the time and I think they look terrific and with heatwaves becoming more and more a way of life, I think everyone should just buy themselves a pair of big ol’ shorts this summer!” —Max Berlinger, senior fashion news editor
