Nude nails lend themselves beautifully to all shapes. “Medium to long almond nails elongate the nail, creating a polished and sleek look,” says Dennis. Short, squoval nails tend to look more effortless and low-maintenance, giving your manicures an understated edge.

To ensure that your manicures are even, “apply thin layers and allow each coat to fully dry before going in with the next,” Dennis advises. Patience is key here, and keeping your brush flat to the nail will allow for smooth, even coverage. Dennis suggests using a quick-dry spray after you’ve painted the first few coats to prevent smudging. Finally, apply a blurring, glossy top coat for a salon finish.
