Baguette bags were all the rage this season; and for once weâre not actually talking about the Fendi bag that Carrie Bradshaw made famous, but the trompe lâoeil gluten-full bags made by Moschinoâs Adrian Appiolaza. The $1500 leather clutch not only doubles as a fun street style moment, but itâs also practical in case you should need to bring a baguette as your mid-afternoon snack (howâs that for a cost per wear calculation!). Along with other trompe lâoeil items, bags cinched with belts, or embellished with leather, chainmail, or studs also made their mark during fashion month. And in a season dominated by conversations about femininity, it comes as no surprise that we saw an influx of vanity cases doubling as a handbag; while oversized clutches made for a bold statement, were the perfect statement accessory that can also serve double duty as a makeshift umbrella when the weather quickly changed, as it so often did this season.
