If you’re not quite ready for a cowboy hat, perhaps the denim vest trend will pique your interest. Afterall, vests have been having a moment for quite a few seasons now. The movement started with menswear-inspired suiting, but it has expanded into everyday wear territory thanks to the laidback denim assortment.

The Denim Vest Shopping List

Last season, Sergio Hudson leaned into the Western-inspired trend, layering one over a shirt and tie. And in the Resort 2024 collections, Dsquared2 offered a rock ’n roll take for the guys.

On the street style scene, Katie Holmes is already on board. Earlier this month, she stepped out wearing a modernized silhouette by Banana Republic.

Holmes paired her denim vest with matching flared jeans, but there are so many ways to wear the trend. Go the maxi skirt route for an unexpected polished twist or anchor the look with a pair of pleated pants. Either way, this is the easiest way to test the waters of the Western theme without going overboard.
