For the first time in years, Apple will not be offering its new iPhone Pro in Gold color.
That, at least, is what the new report from 9to5Mac claims. When Apple launches the new iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max (or Ultra) this September, the Gold will be replaced by an entirely new color, a concrete-like gray (likely) called Titan Gray.
The color change may have something to do with a rumored new feature on the iPhone 15 Pro — the titanium frame, which will reportedly replace the stainless steel frame on current models. The Titan Gray should play nice with the titanium, although the entire package looks a little, well, too gray in renderings; hopefully it’ll look a bit more striking in real life.
Apple has been experimenting with various shades of gray on its Pro models for a while now. For example, the iPhone 11 Pro was available in Space Gray, whereas the iPhone 12 Pro and 13 Pro were available in Graphite, which was replaced by Black when the iPhone 14 Pro came along.
The report also claims that a new, dark blue color will replace the Deep Purple color, which was the new option on the iPhone 14 Pro.
All in all, the new color lineup for the iPhone 15 Pro and the iPhone 15 Pro Max could look like this: Black, Silver, Deep Blue, and Titan Grey (though we’re not sure about the names on the blue and gray models).
The iPhone 15, and the iPhone 15 Plus, on the other hand, will reportedly come in Black, Green, Blue, Yellow, and Pink colors.
All of this is in the realm of speculation and is not official until Apple reveals its iPhone 15 lineup, which will reportedly happen on September 12.
