Portuguese football expert Pedro Sepulveda speaking on Sky Sports News about Darwin Nunez:
“It’s a €86m price then €20m in add-ons. The first €10m are easy objectives, Benfica will get that €10m. The other €10m is more difficult, we are talking about objectives such as winning the Champions League.
“There are two other English clubs that are interested in him: Newcastle and Manchester United. The information that I have is Benfica haven’t received a formal bit from any of these two clubs.
“Today, Manchester United will have a meeting with Jorge Mendes, who is Darwin Nunez’s new agent. Man United know Benfica will receive an official offer from Liverpool and they want to sit down with Mendes to see if they can do something. This meeting is not in England, it’s in another European city.
“But the player is already thinking about playing in Anfield so it will be very difficult for Man United. He wants to play in the Champions League with Liverpool and he already talked with other Liverpool player who said how amazing it is to play in a stadium like Anfield.
“He has already agreed personal terms with Liverpool, we’re talking about a five-year contract with €6m per season.”
