I wasn’t completely sure about The Shards at first, mainly because I hate horror (I’m a known coward, okay?). But I’m pleased to announce that the terrifying-to-deliciously-extra ratio of this show is just right, at least so far—and lucky for us, we got another two new episodes to devour this week. Episode 3 was quite fun, mostly because of Ivy Wolk, but now, please find every thought I had about Episode 4 of The Shards.
- Sherman Oaks mentioned!
- Damn, that reminds me, I really need to try to make a reservation at Anajak.
- This is so proto-gooning article.
- This is a lot of script real estate to spend on a discontinued cereal.
- “Girls love guys who drive stick.” Do we?
- Not this cropped tank top!
- Doing porn to put yourself through Yale because your dad lost all his money to Heaven’s Gate…now that’s ’80s LA, all right.
- COACH BEISTE!
- Should I rewatch all of Glee?
- Would I even survive that at this point in my life?
- LIZ?!?
- Doing porn?
- Great long-sleeve corset.
- Oh God, what in the hell is about to happen to Ivy Wolk?
- Ugh, what is he making her eat?
- Gin and fries sounds good to me, actually.
- Was anyone even carding in the ’80s?
- I love when white teenage boys explain “a Japanese concept.”
- Ah, to be the daughter of “the West Side’s pediatrician to the stars.”
- Say what you will about this show, but the needle drops go crazy.
- I mean, how does one even begin to go about clearing Blondie’s “Heart of Glass” for Netflix use?
- Graham Campbell’s curls are so springy.
- I want to pull one!
- “Remember fat camp?” LMAO.
- Is Cha-Cha a deliberate reference to Cha-Cha DiGregorio from Grease?
- I hope so, because otherwise, that’s simply lazy writing.
- The concept of this crop-top twink being straight…
- Then again, he’s in high school! Plenty of time for him to figure things out.
- Ah, to feast on the spoils of a brown paper takeout bag from La Scala.
- Illicit gay stuff! Yay!
- “Oh my God, you’re such a good person” is insane dirty talk.
- Damn, and a “Funkytown” needle drop?
- The music supervisors were really just splashing out this episode, weren’t they?
- Knife!
- I’m scared! “Are you an actor? My dad is a producer, he will put you in one of his movies” is an iconically LA-brained way to beg a knife-wielding stranger for your life.
- Susan to the rescue!
- “I know you killed your mom.”
- Ahhhhh!
- I mean…why taunt a potential murderer, king?
- I like Bret’s sunglasses.
- I don’t mind Susan’s, either.
- Oh damn, Ivy’s back in her cage.
- And there’s…a new cage recruit?
- Max Minghella directed this episode?
- Okay!
