West Northamptonshire to Montecito, and now British Columbia. Meghan Markle and Prince Harry stepped out yesterday evening (August 7) for a fundraising gala held for the David Foster Foundation. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex wore matching monochromatic looks for their rare red carpet date night—Meghan made it even more special by pairing her sleek black dress with a pair of earrings that once belonged to her late mother-in-law, Princess Diana.
Meghan—who recently celebrated her 45th birthday—paired the diamond and sapphire earrings with a black one-shoulder draped dress made by Canadian designer Greta Constantine. Harry, meanwhile, opted for a black tuxedo and bow-tie. Meghan relied on her usual glamorous event glam, wearing her hair pulled back into a neat bun, with warm blush, and bronzed smoky eye, and nude glossy lip.
The couple posed on the red carpet with Foster and Katharine McPhee, longtime friends. (Meghan Markle and McPhee are also childhood friends.)
The royal has previously worn Diana’s earrings; she owns several pieces of jewelry from Diana’s personal collection, including her butterfly earrings and matching cuff bracelet, a diamond tennis bracelet, her Cartier Tank Louis, and Diana’s iconic aquamarine ring (also known widely as her “divorce ring”), which Meghan wore on her wedding day in 2018. Many of the pieces have been worn during some of the couple’s most poignant moments: Meghan wore Diana’s diamond cross necklace when the couple visited Nigeria in 2024 for the Invictus Games, which Diana had worn to visit the country in 1990.
