“Borrowed from the boys,” an oft-used fashion phrase, usually refers to women adopting menswear staples as their own. Blazers, button-ups, chinos, and deck shoes have all become enduring elements of women’s wardrobes. But there’s far more to borrow from the men’s runways than tailoring. This June’s spring 2027 menswear shows were packed with styling ideas worth stealing for the summer ahead.
The Menswear-Inspired Codes to Try Right Now
The shows this season felt especially primed for summer, packed with color, print, and cheeky accessories. Embrace head-to-toe tonal dressing, leaning into a single hue, as seen in shades of blue, pink, and yellow at Auralee, Celine, and Dries Van Noten. Speaking of Celine, the brand also led the way with standout summer accessories: beaded belts that instantly perk up a simple pair of jeans and little white shoes that add a touch of levity to any look. Plaid and madras, as seen at Dior, Ralph Lauren, and Sstein, felt cool rather than overly preppy, while oversized brooches at Sacai and Simone Rocha made a case for statement accessories. As for pants, two silhouettes emerged: relaxed, voluminous styles, like Celine’s balloon trousers, and the return of skinny pants and capris, championed by Prada.
