You can’t deny the cozy allure of joggers and black leggings, but how about a happy medium? Our editors have found theirs in the most comfortable jeans—a pant that’s both practical and polished. And because fashion editors are notorious for having large denim collections, we asked a handful of our stylish colleagues to share their favorite ones. More specifically, the most comfortable jeans in their wardrobes.

Denim’s proven itself to be a tried-and-true wardrobe essential for a reason, with purists on the team gravitating toward non-stretch denim. As far as fabric goes, if rigid denim isn’t your speed, there are plenty of other options in this gallery cut from softer and thinner denim that don’t cross into stretch territory. My Rag & Bone Sofie jeans give you the look of a good vintage jean (fits tight at the top, but is a bit looser on the bottom), without the pain that comes from wearing a true vintage pair of denim. After feeling frustrated that none of my jeans were fitting me properly, I sprung on a pair of Agolde’s ’90s Pinch Waist jeans during one of SSENSE’s sales. I’ve moved away from slim, high-waisted cuts in recent years, but I’ll plug these to anyone who listens. There’s a reason Still Here named this pair the Everyday Jean. I’ve been a fan of denim from Still Here for a while but what they did with the Everyday Jean is next level. The classic blue wash is my favorite (they can take you from day to night) and is easily the perfect would-wear-everyday-if-I-could closet staple.
