Denim trends tend to stick around for longer than the average clothing fad, which is why when designers revisit the silhouettes and their styling en masse, we take note. For Sabato de Sarno’s debut Gucci spring/summer 2024 collection, he took us on trip to the 2000s, paring semi-tailored blue jeans with chic party tops—a look reminiscent of a bygone era. Proenza Schouler showed fresh ways to wear all-white, while Jonathan Anderson raised the waist to unlikely proportions.
The Runway-Inspired Denim to Shop Now:
The denim trends seen on the fall/winter 2024 runways took this a step further, bringing back skinny jeans and boho flares, which reigned supreme in two major collections. At Miu Miu—always one to watch—a strong case was made for return of the super skinny. And at Chemena Kamali’s smash-hit first show for Chloé, we saw high-waisted flares worthy of an early-aughts Kate Moss.
That said, not all denim on the catwalk was a blast from the past. At Bally, modern skirting intermingled with preppy knitwear, while at Tory Burch we saw a sleek take on the classic denim jacket.
